We make the grain work for you.
IntarsiaStudio started as a one-person project to answer a stubborn question: why is it still so hard to turn a great reference photo into a ready-to-cut woodworking pattern?
We combined a hand-curated library of professional blueprints with an AI generator that runs entirely in your browser — no uploads, no subscription, no waiting.
The story
In early 2024, Ramazan was making an intarsia wolf portrait as a gift. The reference photo was beautiful; the pattern conversion process was not. Two hours of manual vectorization in Illustrator, three failed test cuts, and a slightly annoyed workshop later, he decided to write software to do it properly.
The first version of the AI generator ran in a Python script. By the end of 2024 it moved into the browser, where it could run on anyone's machine without installing anything. IntarsiaStudio launched publicly in early 2026 with a catalog of 40 professional patterns and the generator as a free tool.
We're a small team — engineers, woodworkers, and designers — operating across California and Istanbul. We care obsessively about cut quality, wood species accuracy, and making professional-grade patterns accessible to woodworkers at every level.
What we stand for
Craft First
Every pattern we publish is tested at the scroll saw before release. If we wouldn't cut it ourselves, it doesn't ship.
Privacy by Default
Our AI generator runs entirely in your browser. Your photos never leave your device — not even for a millisecond.
Open Workshop
Woodworking knowledge should be freely shared. Our blog, wood species guide, and technique library are always free to access.
Made for Makers
We build for hobbyists, professionals, and everyone between — not for resellers or mass production. Every feature is designed with the individual craftsperson in mind.
The team
Software engineer and lifelong woodworking enthusiast. Built the first version of the AI generator as a personal tool for his own intarsia projects before turning it into IntarsiaStudio.
A network of professional woodworkers and scroll saw artists who design, test, and refine every pattern in our store catalog.
